A split love letter between 2 of the UK's best screamo bands. Ravachol up the ante from their EP with two of their best tracks. Still avoiding distortion they manage to really fuzz up their sound whilst somehow making the guitar lines EVEN cleaner and jangly! The bass / drum off in Three nicely set off with handclaps, and Equilibrium starts off as it means to go on, frantic and sounding epic! Giving way to some beautiful clean, what can only truly be described as 'guitar licks', before building up to a fuzzed up claustrophobic ending with the appearance of some amazing sung lines from Emma. 2 simply stunning tracks from one of the best UK bands, now sadly defunct! R.I.P.
We Came Out Like Tigers have always been highlights of the UK screamo scene with their raw, desperate sounding anthems nicely juxtaposed with violin. Their first track here pushes that sound to the point of overdrive, before giving way to haunting sounding strings and clean guitar before plunging headfirst back into claustrophobic screamo again. This nicely segues into their second track, a short vocal led refrain accompanied by a spoken word lament. It had to happen someday that they should stray into Silver Mt Zion territory and they do so beautifully here without ever sounding derivative or pretentious.
